New girls rugby kit unveiled on International Women’s Day!

8th Mar 2024
On International Womens Day, 2024, we are delighted to unveil our new girls rugby kit which has been kindly sponsored by three local companies, all with ties to Strangford Integrated College.

MK transport, which is owned by the grandfather of current pupils Brooke and Kodi features on the front of the playing shirt, while the sleeves display logos for Ballyblack Contracts and Peninsula Construction, both of which are owned by former pupils, Adam McKee and Ross Torney, respectively.

When presenting the shirts, Ross commented, “Adam and I got so much from the school and really enjoyed playing rugby, both at school and with Ards Rugby Club. It just feels right to give something back to the College.”

The kit was designed by Lucy, who is one of our senior rugby players and is pictured presenting the shirt, which is reversible, to Principal, Mrs Clare Foster and Head Girls Coach, Mrs Van Der Schyff with Brooke and Codi representing MK Transport.

Mrs Foster commented, “We are delighted to present our new girls rugby kit which looks fantastic.  Thank you so much to all our sponsors from the local community and their interest in Strangford Integrated College. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our rugby coaches for all their energy and commitment to growing rugby within the College.”

We would like to thank all our sponsors and the girls are really excited to be able to show off their new kits at the Ulster Rugby, Junior Girls Finals, which are being held on Thursday 14th March at the Mid Ulster Sports Complex in Cookstown.
